VAS Time is Here
|It’s almost VAS Gala time, which means AnnaMaria & I are busying photographing artwork and working our design magic on invitations, catalogues, and other nifty things.
The Visual Arts Society is an organization that raises money for equipment for the Art Department & for Student Scholarships. They raise money by having an art auction every spring, that includes work by artists of all levels. I donated a small watercolor painting of a snail. I’m pretty fond of it, but its going to a good cause… I got to write a little ‘About the Artist’ statement for myself earlier. Writing about myself in the 3rd person is a bit akward, at least when it’s for something fairly formal.
This is AnnaMaria & my second year working on projects for the VAS. Last year we did the auction catalogues, a program, silent auction sheets, and table tents. This past fall we drastically reworked a logo design and created a letterhead for them. This spring we did a newsletter, designed a save-the-date, and an invitation, and are currently working on the catalogues and other print work. I’ll definitely post images of our work once I have my files in hand.
Off topic: I finally spent more than 5 minutes on pandora.com today, and it is freaking awesome. You type in a band or song that you like and it will suggest and play other similar music that it thinks you will like. Check it out.
