Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope you all enjoyed a lovely holiday. Karl and I went out early for breakfast at Waffle House before opening gifts at home and taking a nap. On Christmas Day we traditionally have the mornings to ourselves and then visit with Karl’s family in the evening. His mother makes an awesome German meal of rouladen, red cabbage, and potatoes every year. Karl cooked some super fancy mac and cheese and graham cracker brownies to go with it while I spent some time working on photos. Karl woke up sick and continued to get worse throughout the day so I’m going to try to get him to go to the doctor before we head out of town for our Christmas vacation. -fingers crossed- he recovers quickly.

We finished decorating our Christmas tree last night. Normally I like to get it up right after Thanksgiving but we didn’t have a place for it. We ended up putting it in my studio which is obviously under construction.

Santa has arrived!

Waffle House Breakfast

I woke up at 4 am full of energy but waited until about 7 am before waking Karl up with the promise of a Waffle House Breakfast. It worked!

Gift Exchange

Exchanging gifts was fun. Karl and I were both surprised by our gifts and impressed. I got Karl a bunch of geeky shirts, some Star Wars figures, legos, and a custom photo-book of our anniversary party from this past spring — I’m pretty sure I won Christmas with it. Karl got me some smelly good stuff: candles, lotions, cuties, candy, a gaming headset, and a Fitbit. I’m excited about the Fitbit. Hopefully having something on my wrist that is constantly tracking me will help me be more mindful and active.

Karl’s big gift from me this year was a photo-book I made through Shutterfly.com. It took a lot of time to make and it came out really nice. I can’t wait for Karl to sit down and read through it. I will definitely have to make more photo-books in the future.

Dinner with the Records

We drove to Karl’s parents around 4 pm for his mother’s traditional German Christmas Day meal. It was super yummy!

More Pictures

I made Karl try his clothes on when we got home. He had a low fever so he wasn’t too thrilled to be trying clothes on but they all look great on him.
