Getting Started

Today marks the beginning of my (new) design blog, in which I want to document my final year as an undergrad, revisit some old projects, and gain more confidence in explaining and writing about my work. I would also love to make some new art & design friends. I’ve got a ton of homework to finish today, so I’ll start by telling you…

A little about myself…
I’m a southern girl living in Anniston, Alabama and I am currently studying graphic design and photography at Jacksonville State. I’m married to Karl Record, my best friend of 10 years. Together we have four crazy cats, and live in a house that is in an eternal state of renovation. I love just about everything related to art and design. I’m especially into photography, and I want to learn more about web design and interactive media. In my spare time I enjoy reading, gaming, watching films, and talking/working with others interested in the arts. I’m hoping 2010 will be a year of change for me.

This year I plan to:

• Finally suceed in my weight loss crusade.
• Get Career Ready (portfolio, resume, website)
• Have a successful Senior Show
• Graduate in the Fall with my BFA
• Enjoy my last year of school

I’m currently enrolled in: Far Eastern Art History, Graphic Design Workshop, Geography, Letterform, and Photography IV. I also have a variety of extracurricular activities and projects in the works, so it’s going to be a very busy semester.
