Calligraphy

Last week we had a Chinese calligraphy lesson and tonight we had an italic hand lesson, both were really great. I really enjoyed tonights lesson despite my horrible handwriting. So far we’ve gotten off to a fairly slow start in this class. Our first major learning assignment involves learning to draw the Roman letterforms correctly by hand.

I have to admit it’s definitely not my favorite assignment, but I would seriously love it if I could get to the point where I could do it well.
Handwriting and drawing have never been strong points of mine. I doodled a lot as a kid and in high school when I had tons of time on my hands, but once I started working and going to college I lost my motivation. I would seriously love to improve my handwriting and drawing, but finding the time to practice is almost impossible due to my crazy workload.
Hopefully I’ll start to wrap multiple projects up somewhat soon so I can find time to practice.
