{"id":9148,"date":"2010-11-25T11:47:37","date_gmt":"2010-11-25T11:47:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carolandkarl.com\/blog\/?p=9148"},"modified":"2025-11-25T11:49:00","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T11:49:00","slug":"best-boxed-mac-n-cheese","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carolandkarl.com\/blog\/best-boxed-mac-n-cheese\/","title":{"rendered":"Best Boxed Mac N Cheese"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This little upgrade made this a family favorite.<\/p>\n<h2>BEST BOXED MAC N CHEESE<\/h2>\n<h3>INGREDIENTS NEEDED:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>2 boxes Kraft Mac n Cheese<\/li>\n<li>6 TBSP butter<\/li>\n<li>5 \u00bd Cups Milk<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup all purpose flour<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc tsp black pepper<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc tsp nutmeg<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc tsp cayenne pepper (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>DIRECTIONS<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Warm milk over medium heat<\/li>\n<li>Melt butter in high sided skillet over medium heat, when butter bubbles add flour<\/li>\n<li>Cook for one minute<\/li>\n<li>While whisking add hot milk a little at a time, keep mixing until smooth<\/li>\n<li>Continue cooking, whisking constantly until mixture bubbles and thickens<\/li>\n<li>Remove from heat, stir in salt pepper, nutmeg, and chesse powder packets from boxed mac n cheese<\/li>\n<li>Pour over cooked noodles<\/li>\n<li>If adding real cheese, back in 375 oven for 20-30 minutes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This little upgrade made this a family favorite.
