I woke up to a text message from Karl telling me I’d forgotten my camera’s battery charger at home, or actually, he may of messaged me the day before. Either way, finding a battery charger before heading to Cuba immediately became my top priority.<\/p>\n

I woke up around 7 am and helped Betty make breakfast. She had a lot going on the bacon was burning so I dived in and saved the bacon. Yay!<\/p>\n

Mario gave me a lift to a camera shop around 8:30. The shop should have opened at 8, but was not yet open when we arrived. We waited around a few minutes while I looked for another store on my phone and then headed to the next one which was thankfully only a few blocks down. It was open, the sales person was helpful and hooked me up with a generic charger that hit me for about $56 dollars. It hurt, but\u00a0not as bad as it would of hurt to get to\u00a0Cuba without a battery charger. Thankfully this ended up being the only thing I actually forgot to pack.<\/p>\n

Back at the resort I checked the battery charger to make sure it worked. My fears alleviated I immediately set about my agenda for the day: relax by the pool and swim as much as possible. While I don’t really believe in Zodiac stuff I really identify with my Pisces water sign. I love being in the water. I want a pool or a friend with a pool I can crash any time so bad. I would live in a pool day and night if I could. Water is just so incredibly soothing and fun it’s ridiculous. Obviously I don’t get to spend nearly enough time in the water or I wouldn’t be talking so obsessively\u00a0about it. ^__^<\/p>\n

Anyways, the pool was great. There were ducks swimming in it, and I found those same ducks chilling under my table when I got out of the pool to relax. I thought it was pretty cool to chill out with a bunch of ducks most of the afternoon.<\/p>\n

I ordered a mudslide and was having a great time relaxing when my tour crew showed up around noon and invited me to join them for lunch. I was happy to join them at Wakoola Grill, a poolside restaurant,\u00a0for a bit of social time. I wasn’t really hungry but I ordered Stuffed Tostones: fried smashed green plantains topped with pico de gallo and a creamy sriracha sauce. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t as good as I hoped.<\/p>\n
