Cuba, Day 2: Lunch at La California Paladar

La California Restaurant is a lovely venue in Old Havana one block off the Malecon drive and seawall. The building is a beautifully restored 19th century colonial building. The atmosphere is intimate and charming. We were treated to a welcome cocktail, a family style meal, and drinks. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was a refreshing and luxurious surprise.

If I could go back I would eat everything but the seafood all over again. If I had to pick a favorite or two I’d choose the shredded beef and the guava/coconut/cheese dessert which was super interesting and tasty. I really loved the art and interior design/atmosphere of this place. Such a romantic venue. I can only imagine how incredible it must be in the evening with a bit of live music. Gorgeous place!
