Home from South Korea!
|I recently returned home from three weeks studying abroad in Korea. I’m slowly going through my photos and posting daily blogs from my time there. Fall semester is about to begin so it’ll be a while before I get my blogs up. I’m feeling really tired from jet lag, but it’s not as bad as when Karl and I returned from Japan.
Oh American food, how I’ve missed you!
My study abroad experience in South Korea was amazing and so much better than anticipated. Mostly because I made a ton of new friends and had a blast exploring with them.
I enjoyed getting to live in a dorm, like a traditional college student. The room was small and it was often challenging to keep our stuff in order but I enjoyed the simplicity of it. I also loved my roommates: Bethany, Tabitha, and Alaina.
I learned a ton about Korea and I learned a decent amount of Korean, mostly how to read and write Hangul (the Korean alphabet). I can sound out most words fairly easily now. We’ll see how long that last.
My favorite experiences in Korea were mostly the things I did with my friends, but here are a few of my personal highlights.
- Attending an esports game at LOL Park’s esports arena.
- Visiting the beach city Busan and going on a city tour
- Visiting the border of North Korea
- Admiring architecture
- Visiting different themed cafes and stores
- Trying lots of new and amazing food
